Financial Report: Larry was not at the meeting to provide the Treasurer’s Report.
Committee Reports:
Membership Committee- Nothing to report.
Silent Auction-
Social Events Committee- The social events committee is looking at having an event following the BSC National Energy Center For Excellence Tour on the Chamber Patio.
Training & Development- Treva has scheduled a tour of the BSC Energy Center for Excellence on June 11th 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm. Treva is thinking about having David Pierce do a luncheon presentation this August from 11-1, additional information to follow.
Communications- Treva believes she knows how to make changes to the website to update as needed if not we could probably also get assistance from Carol Ellwein, per Greg. Whoever chairs this committee next year should be made aware of how to make these changes and Tami will train the new committee chair as to how you make changes.
Miscellaneous Business Discussed- The Distinguished Alumni Award was presented to Marilyn Johnson at the Leadership Graduation on April 29th. Thank you Marilyn for all your work and dedication to LBMAA and the community over the years.
Treva brought up the idea of having LBMAA donate time to Papa Pumpkin’s Patch this fall. The event brings in much needed funds that are donated within the community and the time worked is donated by the community. We agreed to sign up for a 4 hour time slot this October and will ask members to participate.
The question was asked whether Kevin had ever sent out thank you cards for donations from the silent auction. Paula was going to check with him but if he has not we discussed sending a thank you out in August and asking to consider participating again when they are contacted this fall.
Kevin will be off the board in September as past president and we discussed having a member from the most recent graduating class. The class member that is selected will be asked to attend July and August meetings to get a sense of how our meetings are conducted. Marilyn’s tenure is also up in September and we will need her to inform us as to her intentions in continuing on the board. If she decides not to continue we discussed having the spot opened up to alumni at large, to see who would be interested.
I have additional information about our tax filing status that should be reviewed/ discussed at our next meeting.
Our next meeting will be at 11:30-12:30 pm Monday June 8th, 2009 at the Chamber Conference room.
